We Are The World. Yes, We Are.

No doubt the song was a hit maker and admit it, it drew us closer to one another despite the distance and differences in culture and language. And through this song, we helped African in 1985 and Haiti back in 2010 in getting over the calamity they experienced. If you will remember, Africa experienced famine while Haiti was struck by a magnitude 7.0 earthquake that caused widespread damaged. Various artists came up together and recorded the song to tell the world how we are united in times of catastrophe.

And now that our country is facing one of the biggest catastrophe, somebody edited the video and made it for the victims of Haiyan in the Philippines. I must say many was touched, as it is to tell us that the whole world is helping us, and as the song is meant to be 'a fund raising vehicle for causes, tragedies and catastrophes'.

Like what the song implies, I wish during this time of national calamity, every people has the heart to share and help even in the most little way. And instead of bragging about the slowest government system, why not spend the time doing something for the victims. You see, there's no point of telling what he or she must or must have done. Everyone is a victim and a survivor, even we, who weren't directly affected by Yolanda. The whole country is at its weakest point and there's no room for a blame game. Let us not compare our government from others. You see they have what we don't, but that doesn't mean that our President or the officials are not finding a way. Let us unite instead of fall apart. Let us find a way we can help instead of finding something to brag about. It is this times that we should be proud and thankful, not blameful and self pity. TOGETHER WE STAND.That's what we should be thinking.

The first time I saw the video I was teary eyed. As a Filipina, it was more than heartbreaking to see how things were going on particularly in the affected areas. They were devastated, they were helpless, they were dying. I listened to the music and read the lyrics of the song. I unstoppably cried.

We all need somebody that we can lean onwhen you wake up look around and see that your dreams gonewhen the earth quakes well help you make it through the stormwhen the floor breaks a magic carpet to stand onwe are the World united by love so strongwhen the radio isnt on you can hear the songsa guided light on the dark road your walking ona sign post to find the dreams you thought was gonesomeone to help you move the obstacles you stumbled onsomeone to help you rebuild after the rubbles gonewe are the World connected by a common bondLove the whole planet sing it along

we amplified the love we watching multiply
Feeling like the Worlds end
we can make the World win
Like Katrina, Africa, Indonesia
and now [the Visayans] needs us, the need us, they need us.

From me to the world, THANK YOU SO MUCH.
