Operation Damayan
Watching the news right now, I suddenly felt my tears falling down. Not because of the damage brought by Yolanda, but because of the overwhelming help we are continuously receiving from other countries. Operation damayan.
10 days after Yolanda hit the country, donations and people from other countries kept coming. As Vicky Morales stated, there were several foreigners she went along in the plane to Leyte. They were doctors, nurses and paramedics from other countries who left their offices to to check on the victims of Yolanda. There were also medicines to be given to them. Planes were sent by the United States to help in the relief operations. Some started to air drop relief goods for the victims that can't be reach via land transportation. Japan sent a medical team for the affected areas. Foreign celebrities also had their way of helping our country. Truly, it is in times like this that people from all over the world unites to help the needy.
In due time, I know, we will be able to stand up from the calamity. It may have caused a widespread damage, Filipinos, as they say, are stronger than typhoon. "BAGYO LANG YAN, PINOY KAMI Eh".
